Was challenged to improve web sites to reflect companies desire to portray a cutting edge look and feel to the market place. Was also tasked to improve product inventory tracking systems that were not integrated between B2B and B2C web sites. Led team of project managers from IT and B2B to develop plan to integrate R&D, Product Development, Technical Support, and QA databases into a centralized Product Data Repository. Used Oracle 8i and three-tiered approach where Java Servlets acted as data retrieval modules, which generated HTML pages from the central database in real-time. With HTML acting on the top tier as the interface to the customers, Java Servlets in the middle tier sent instructions and retrieved data from the Oracle database Resulting model allowed on-the-fly web site development and saved the company endless hours required generating HTML content pages by hand.
